I’m All Shook Up

“Why not go out on a limb?  Isn’t that where the fruit is?”  ~Frank Scully

Hi Folks!  Boy, it’s been a while!

Anyone who’s seen me in the last couple of months knows I’m jazzed about juicing!  I’m a huge fan of healthy eating and now I’ve reached a new level of understanding and health.

It all started when I watched the documentary, “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.”  Quite possibly one of the most inspiring documentaries—ever!  I highly recommend it for anyone—particularly anyone suffering from disease and/or on medication.  The documentary followed two guys with severe obesity (300+ and 400+ lbs) and a rare skin disorder.  They were both on a slew of medications to regulate blood pressure, cholesterol, pain and their rare skin disorder. By the end of the documentary (one man juiced for 60 days, the other 90 days), they were off ALL medications!  That is only 2 and 3 months respectively!  They also dropped ridiculous amounts of weight and attained a “healthy” status from their doctors.

I couldn’t believe this form of “medicine” is and was available to me my whole life!

After watching the documentary, which ended at 11:30 at night, I wanted to juice right then and there.  I had no interest in sleep, I wanted to go out and get my new juicer and I felt like Bed Bath and Beyond should be open for such an occasion!  I have to admit, I never thought I’d be the type of person who would juice—but this resonated with me.

You may be familiar with the feeling when something resinates with you. You can tell something does because you feel inspired to take actions—sometime irrational actions (like quit your job! or buy a juicer at midnight)–but you just knooooow you should do something— NOT doing it just feels plain stupid.

So the next day I got my juicer and the obscene amount of vegetables required and gave it a go.  I thought I can do this even if it tastes bad.  To my surprise, not only did I like it (I add a small jalapeno in so it taste like salsa), I also found my body invigorated.  People who saw me could tell when I juiced.  I’ve never had energy like that before.  Quite honestly, it looked like I was “on” something like cocaine, caffeine, or amphetamines.  What also wound up happening was I no longer wanted meat (that was surprising!) and I also had no interest in alcohol or sugary things (sweet!).  ALL cravings were gone.

All these fantastic results inspired me to research what was going on in my body.  Apparently it all boils down to your body’s pH.  When you are too acidic for long periods of time, your body can retain weight, crave alcohol, have allergies, asthma, eczema, infertility, acne, cancer, tumors, gas, bloating, yeast infections, panic attacks, low energy levels, brain “fog,” and a myriad of other health problems.

Personally, I don’t know one person who doesn’t suffer from one of these things!  Furthermore, I am astonished and appalled that this has NEVER been brought to my attention from a doctor.  To check if I was an anomaly I asked one of my clients who has SEVERAL top Gastro-intestinal doctors if THEY had ever linked her diet to her problems in her gut.  The answer was a shocking NO.  She was allowed to eat highly processed foods, few vegetables and told to continue to take several medications to correct what was going on in her intestines—for the rest of her life.

Thankfully she has started juicing and avoiding processed foods and her doctors are amazed at her health.  They are shocked at her progress—really?  Maybe they need to watch “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.”

In my next few blogs I’ll explain more about how you can adjust your pH levels for optimal health and how a nasty parasite might be the cause of your cravings!

Until next time…cheers!
